Actor/Activist Woody Harrelson raises his voice

"Voice Yourself, along with my two daughters, represents the ultimate product of my life's work," says Woody Harrelson. He's talking about www.voiceyourself.com, a one-stop site for news, information, personal comments, tips for taking action, and a call for interactive connection. The site's tag is "transforming the world together."

Calling a web site, and the ideas it records, your life's "ultimate product" is strong stuff coming from the accomplished actor, whose major career stretches from TV's "Cheers" to movies like Larry Flynt and Kingpin and plays by Sam Shepard. But he means it. Just spend some time with Voice Yourself on the web, and you'll see what he means. The extensive features include a punchy short film, "Thoughts from Within," complete with a Woody voice-over that is part rap, part eco-philosophy; a how-to "green kitchen" category; a "Get Up Stand Up" action section; and a virtual art gallery. The idea is to "inspire individual action to create global momentum towards simple organic living," explains Woody on the site.

Connecting big ideas to daily life is key to understanding Woody's approach. The site's official name is "Woody Harrelson's and Laura Louie's Voice Yourself," an acknowledgement of the important role his wife—and the mother of their children—plays in integrating concept with practice in the family's everyday living.

Now more than ever, Woody feels that it's important to make major changes, away from wasteful consumerism and toward healthy sustainability: "This is not a time to be complacent or quiet," he comments on the site.

"In the near future, "Voice Yourself will be teaming up with other action-oriented groups to widen our community and to unify efforts."

In his "About us" note, Woody talks about the American dream: "I dreamed of seeing my name in lights and hoped one day everybody would know my name. Later, I came to realize it wasn't all about me." That's when he began to focus less on acting and more on activism. The results of his efforts are now on the web for all to see. Check out www.voiceyourself.com and tap into Woody's vibe—it's a cool, smart guide to a future we can all create.
